Dama - Turkish Checkers

Turkish Checkers (also known as Dama) is a variant of draughts played in Turkey.

On an 8x8 board, 16 men are lined up on each side, in two rows, skipping the furthest back. Men can move forward or sideways one square, capturing by means of a jump. When a man reaches the back row, he is promoted to a king at the end of the move. Kings may move any number of squares forwards or sideways, capturing by jumping over any piece and landing in any square within permissible path beyond said piece.

The object is to capture all your opponent's pieces, or to reduce your opponent to not being able to make any move with the pieces he has remaining on the board.

Basic Rules:

• A single man captures in any of the same 3 directions.

• A king captures by jumping to a vacant square beyond an adverse piece, any distance away.

• A single man or a king must continue jumping as long as possible.

• With choice of captures, the player must take the maximum number of adverse pieces.

• Within a multi capture turning 180 degrees between two captures is illegal.

• Each captured piece is removed from the board before the captor continues jumping; its removal may therefore open up additional captures previously impossible.

Dama Turca (noto anche come Dama) è una variante di bozze giocato in Turchia.

Su una scheda di 8x8, 16 uomini sono allineati su entrambi i lati, in due file, saltando la parte posteriore più lontana. Gli uomini possono andare avanti o lateralmente una piazza, catturando per mezzo di un salto. Quando un uomo raggiunge la fila posteriore, viene promosso a un re alla fine del movimento. Kings possono muovere qualsiasi numero di caselle in avanti o lateralmente, la cattura saltando su qualsiasi pezzo e l'atterraggio in ogni piazza in via ammissibile al di là di detto pezzo.

L'obiettivo è quello di catturare tutti i pezzi del tuo avversario, o per ridurre il tuo avversario a non essere in grado di fare qualsiasi mossa con i pezzi che ha rimanenti sul tabellone.

Regole di base:

• Un solo uomo cattura in una qualsiasi delle stesse 3 direzioni.

• Un re cattura saltando a una casella vuota al di là di un pezzo avversa, qualsiasi distanza.

• Un solo uomo o un re deve continuare saltando più a lungo possibile.

• Con la scelta della cattura, il giocatore deve prendere il numero massimo di pezzi avverse.

• All'interno di un multi cattura girando di 180 gradi tra due acquisizioni è illegale.

• Ogni pezzo catturato viene rimosso dal tabellone prima che il rapitore continui salti; la sua rimozione può quindi aprire la cattura supplementari in precedenza impossibili.
